8. Huh? Teddy Roosevelt was long before the New Deal.
Franklin Roosevelt created the New Deal, and the people of the time understood quite well what its objectives were, even if a conservative Supreme Court eventually struck down some of its components. Successive generations may not have understood how they benefitted from its residual effects or fought to protect its legacy, but there is no doubt that the New Deal is still producing economic benefits today.
