Unfortunately, it's not that hard to get people to hate, even when they have a history of getting along (Bosnia). It's fascinating to outsiders looking in, that people do stuff like this to people who, for all intents and purposes, are really very similar, and are fighting to the death over minor differences. White people doing this to other white people, Blacks killing each other in Africa, when in America they might see each other as allies. Japan ruthlessly invading other Oriental nations- to this day they believe they are the superior race, and treat the non-Japanese races terribly (a foreigner can't buy property). And of course, the Sunni and Shite.
