8. CAN A GOOD EVANGELICAL BE A GOOD AMERICAN?

CAN A GOOD EVANGELICAL BE A GOOD AMERICAN?

I forwarded that question to a friend that worked as a janitor at an Evangelical church for 20 years.

The following is his forwarded reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to a God who personally supports such un-American values as torture, rigged elections, staggering deficits, and tax cuts for the rich.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his God except Evangelical Christianity (The Bible tells him so.) .

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the four pillars of the New Testament (Christian Bible), which he puts before the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Evangelical Heaven, to which no one but a bona fide, tithing, toe-the-line Evangelical Christian can gain admittance.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Church forbids him to make friends with Muslims and Jews, who attend Mosques and Synagogues.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the Great Satan (Mad King George), who preaches the Annihilation of Muslims and Destruction of Islam - not to mention the shredding of "That Worthless Piece of Paper, the Constitution" - as the true path to a monopoly on Middle East oil, and global hegemony.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry one women at a time, and treat her like an obedient servant ("You will be eager for your husband and he will rule over you"--Genesis 3:16, and "Wives be subservient to your husbands"--Ephesians 5:22.) .

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Secular Humanist principles and he believes Secular Humanism, like science and the United Nations, to be corrupt. And, because he has a hard time thinking for himself.

Philosophically - no. Because according to Evangelical beliefs, Christianity, Jesus, and the Bible do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Evangelical Christianity cannot co-exist. Every Evangelical government on Earth is either dictatorial or autocratic, or, in the case of America, both.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Evangelical’s God excludes homosexuals, bisexuals, transsexuals, cross-dressers, pro-choice liberals, anti-war activists, environmentalists, atheists, agnostics, and millions upon millions of other Americans, most of whom believe "Christian soldier" to be an oxymoron.

Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be extremely suspicious of ALL EVANGELICALS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Evangelicals and good Americans. Call it what you wish....it's still the truth.

You had better believe it.

If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

Pass it on Fellow Americans. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand.
