21. Yesterday, I noticed a new recruiting office had opened in next to the grocery.

As I was getting out of my car, I watched a young red-headed kid walking by with his old man. The old guy, shuffling along next to the kid, wore a well-worn camoflage baseball hat. I thought, "That kid is shipping out." Sure enough, the backpack he carried had an Army logo.

When there are no decent jobs, when student loans are no longer effective, the option to improve yourself (I live in a college town) is to risk getting your head blown off to support a corporate state.
