Taff goes on after a fall from grace
Now out of prison, the former GOP star faces his future remorseful, yet resolute.

Adam Taff is back.

Out of prison. At work again. Still married to the woman who walked down the aisle with him in 2004 when he was the prince of the Kansas Republican Party and the guy who nearly knocked off U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore two years before.

“I took what happened extremely hard,” he said in his first interview since being released from federal custody two weeks ago. “I was very disappointed that I would allow myself to get into that situation. It pained me beyond description knowing I had let down good people who believed in me.”

But dwelling on the past doesn’t get you very far, said Taff, 42.

“We all have difficulties in our lives, whether we bring them on ourselves or not. It’s our ability to learn from that and channel those in positive ways that is so important.”

He knows exactly what he wants people to say about him 10 years from now.

“I hope they’ll say that I know him, that he has worked hard, and he has earned my respect and my trust,” he said. “And I want to be someone that people can say they’re proud to have as a neighbor and someone they’re proud to have in this community.”
