36. I was standing in front of our television on Inauguration Day, 2001
in utter disbelief. I broke into sobs when the media filmed Bush's limo turning the corner onto the parade route. The hundreds of thousands of people who'd braved the rain and cold, all their signs and their anger, were finally in plain view. They were THERE, and they were as mad as I was.

I saw a sign in the crowd that read "democraticunderground.com", and I ran to our computer. I think I've been here ever since.
