. . . but I think those Afghans who appreciate the 'security' of our forces are in a privileged set who aren't yet at the point of our military's advance on their community. I really don't think it's in our interest or right to build-up the regime you're optimistic about the Afghan's accepting as their protector.
I think we should bug-out of the cities and get on with the original mandate in the original 'authorization to use force' which clearly called for the 'pursuit of the perpetrators' of the 9-11 attacks. This nation-building is for the Afghans. Our country's opportunistic involvement in that is certain to corrupt even further than it already has.
