I responded to another poster tonight who inquired about this, but you need to know just how deep the Blackwater ties go into the hard, hard, wealthy right wing of the Republican Party. Erik Prince "founded" Blackwater. He was already wealthy; don't worry about that. Anyway, here's my responsive post. Methinks there is more here than meets the eye, and that DUers can do the digging required:

Here's one of many links. Betsy DeVos was born a multi-millionaire, and she married a billionaire: Rich DeVos, son of one of the founders of Amway. They are hard, powerful right wing. Betsy said that workers in Michigan are "paid too much" (she's now a billionaire, remember) as head (yes, head) of the Michigan Republican Party. Her brother, Erik Prince, is the owner of Blackwater, and he's the one who testified in front of Congress yesterday. How "convenient" it is that he set up Blackwater. So, all these incredibly wealthy people have prospered mightily on the bloodshed of war and through their unqualified support and financial backing of George W. Bush. Are you surprised? I'm not. Here's one link. Look for others: http://www.pfaw.org/pfaw/general/default.aspx?oid=22340
