38. I wept with Jesse as well....
I am an immigrant to this country and as white as they come. I cried on Tuesday night, even before seeing Jesse Jackson weeping, but that put me over the edge. I was born in 1966 and lived all over the world, visiting over 60 countries in the process. I came to the US to go to College and stayed.I became an American because I wanted to.I do not remember the civil rights era, but I have always been a student of history. I, like Jesse Jackson wept for what Tuesday night meant, for us who are still here and more so, for those who fought and paid the ultimate price and are not here to bare witness. What America achieved on Tuesday should make everyone of us weep, for those who fought for freedom and equality along the way, but were not here to witness it in person - we should all be proud of shedding a tear of joy for the world and all of those who came before us. It is not about race anymore, it should never have been about race and we proved it.

I have never been prouder to be an American. Only in America. Go Obama!
