I support the DNC's neigborhood outreach plan and they appear to be better organized and positioned to be succesful this year, BUT I don't know about you, but this slogan does NOT work for me!!

Email sent to DNC after solicitation for donation for their plan:

"I'm a progressive and local Democratic delegate in my town, and I/we want Texapublicans out before they further ruin this country too- OK, SO regarding the flyer- great list of goals/ vision- but HORRIBLE slogan!!!

I won't attach my name or money to a lame "America can do better" slogan. This makes it sound like things are OK now and just need a little tweaking - THEY ARE NOT OK!!!!

If they are OK now, why would anyone go out of their way/ or get excited enough to make things a little better? Is that what the slogan is suggesting, or are we going to throw out the Republicans before they morally and fiscally bankrupt the nation?

The America I believe in and envision does not: instill fear and xenophobia in its citizens, perform illegal wiretapping , snub its nose at international law and civility, ignore warnings about global warming and decimate environmental protections, out CIA agents for political gain, threaten and carry out preemptive war and thereby encourage others to follow our example , go to war (killing thousands) based on a string of lies and exaggerations, indefinitely imprison and torture innocent dirt farmers calling them “enemy combatants” to avoid the Geneva convention protections, encourage and allow runaway war profiteering, oil company windfall profits and give tax cuts that benefit the super wealthy at the expense of long term solvency, health care, education, infrastructure, the environment, working wages and social justice. Yes, now that you mention it, I do believe we can do better (with a hint of sarcasm)

Call it like it is. Trying to placate independents/moderates didn't work in the past two elections and it won't work now. What will work is to bring them along with a BOLD vision, REAL security (as opposed to fake political posturing about security), and not just complaints as the above list, but an honest assessment of our circumstances, and concrete actions on how to fix this mess, standing up with passion for what is right, real values (as opposed to faux mythical nostalgic family values), The America we progressive all hold as a vision in our hearts, not divisive issue politics, but uniting vision- in other words-REAL LEADERSHIP!!!

PLEEEEEEASE CHANGE THE SLOGAN TO REFLECT THE REAL STATE OF AMERICA AND YOUR BOLD VISION!!!!"
