support to important threads. It's one of the many reasons I keep my own monthly thread lists as I do: So I can post additional links and information to help enrich an important thread, bring things together to show the bigger picture more clearly.

Too often, a simple "thanks for posting" or even "interesting!" is skipped. THis is a mistake. Posting takes a lot of effort and if the result seems to be ignored or not appreciated, that generous person who spent that effort is likely to NOT BOTHER the next time. This strikes at the heart of the whole franchise, and we had better pay attention. We are a COMMUNITY, and that is our strength. IF we only are rude or silent, the community cannot stand against what me must fight.

Re your "my three orphans" - I really agree with you there too. We could do that in the Research Forum PLUS "advertising" in a General Discussion thread called something like "Important OVERLOOKED THREADS - please add your own orphans." If you do this, let me know and I'll help support your effort. There are so many fires, and we have to watch ALL of them, front-page/Home Page or not.
