But that doesn't mean that they should not have equal rights under the law.

I recall my mother in the 50s being told the reason she didn't get equal pay for equal work was because "men have a family to support. All you women want to do with your money is buy hats." My mom was a single parent, and things were really tough for her.

I recall when a distant relative was seduced by her minister about this same time. She became pregnant, and was denounced by her congregation, while the minister just moved his family (yep, he was married) to another church, where presumably he would be free to seduce again....she was forced to give up the kid for adoption, I think. That's one reason I always discount the arguments of the religious right-I've seen what really happens in these churches.

Personally, I think if men could become pregnant, suddenly choice would be considered a God given right by those who condemn it today.
