34. Hello fellow Illinoisan,
I take it that you are one of them there northerners from up by Chicagoie. :D

Yes, it is a bit like the south down here, but more like Kentucky and Tennessee than the deep south. And yes they do like him down here. He is one of the few politicians that made it a stop on his campaign trail. The photo shown was taken in Metropolis Illinois, the southern Illinois "hometown" of Superman. ;-)

I am not one of the good ole boys, not even a good ole gal, since I have been northernized (lived in NYC for a while) and liberalized (pro-choice, gun control, anti-war and equal rights for all advocate). I did volunteer for Obama in 2004 and worked in the Carbondale office. Met him and talked to him quite a few times, and was very impressed with him. But like I have said else where, things were strange here in 2004. It was dangerous to be anti-bush, but OK to be an Obama supporter. Maybe it was because the repug candidate for the Senate was so bad. Well anyway, we had bumper stickers on our cars for Kerry, Obama, Costello and Whitney (the Green candidate for state senator). we had a lot of bad things yelled at us that year. B-)
