The American people don't want bipartisanship. At this point, they want the Republicans boiled in oil.

His talk of bipartisanship is probably an attempt to set the stage for the state of affairs after the election, when the Democrats (I hope) are in charge of at least one house of Congress. The Republicans only talk about bipartisanship when they're in the minority.
