We live in the birthplace of medicare. And not so long ago (4 weeks) hubbie wakes up in the middle of the night not feeling well. He could not explain what was wrong--only something was very wrong. To make a long story short--he ended up having multiple bypass surgery.
And every day, I thank my lucky stars that we live where we do. We hear many many complaints about our healthcare up here....and not enough thank you's. There is absolutely no way that we could of ever afforded to pay for this sort of surgery and care that was needed, prior and post surgery. Socialized medicine works. HMO's will tell you otherwise--but I look across the table and I can tell you definitavely--it works.
