Martin Luther King, Jr. asks us to "Remember"
Advertisements [?]
While imprisoned for fighting against the injustices of Jim Crow, injustices that were legal, that carried the full weight of law, Martin Luther King, Jr., in his Letter From Birmingham Jail charged us with a duty. A duty without end. A duty that never goes away.

To remember.

It wasn't the only duty King spoke of in his Letter From Birmingham Jail, but in this day and age, at this time in America's history, it's one duty we would all do well to take up and call our own.

King wrote, "We should never forget that everything Adolf Hitler did in Germany was "legal"..."

So as George Bush asks Congress to alter the law to allow him the legal right to torture people, let us remember our duty.

As Congress debates whether or not to give Bush the legal right to torture people, let us remember our duty.

Everything Hitler did was legal.

Let the full implications of that wash over you.

Let the full weight of what it brought bear down on you.

And Remember.
