15. Reid and Pelosi are the official Congressional Leadership
but Kerry is most certainly a party leader - though there are those that try to silence him. He is the last duly elected standard bearer of the party. The PEOPLE in the Democratic party gave him the nomination after he overwhelmingly won the primaries. Al Gore is another party leader.

I do not think Maher's show is the best forum, but I would send Kerry. He was very clear and easy to understand on Hardball last week and at Faneuil Hall on Saturday. With Clinton - I have NO idea what his current Iraq position is or where he stands on torture. Also where was his clear strong voice in Jan - March 2002. <crickets chirping>

By the way, he won his election against a President with an approval rating 10 points lower than his son's who was also opposed by a very strong 3rd party opponent who imploded and left the race at one point.
