8. You get the impression it was Disney money -
This is from the ticker linked story -

The five-hour miniseries is set to run without commercial interruption. Director David Cunningham said it was a massive undertaking, with close to 250 speaking parts, more than 300 sets and a budget of $40 million. Cunningham has said he shot 550 hours of film. The cast includes Harvey Keitel, Patricia Heaton and Donnie Wahlberg.

But 40 mil dollars is an awful lot for a tv movie to commit to without a backer. Hence my doubt.

If it was Disney money - and this goes as badly as appears - they just pissed away shareholder money - watch the lawsuits from every direction. I bet lawyers are lining up for this right now.

You know Disney has been having infights for some time, Iger (the CEO) I don't think is too popular anyway. And really, this is an incredibly dumb move. They stand a pretty good chance of pissing off the next congress here - for what?? A dud movie (assuming the reviews are right) - that they just spent so much money on??

Joe
