After all, "normal" and "average" are worshipped by the C-czar. Sneer at the 'A's and 'B's! The "average" individual health, either physical or mental, isn't very good. It's obese and codependent, ridden with cancer and greed/ambition.

When I was a kid, we escaped our 'nuclear' dysfunctional families by going to public school and hanging out at friends' houses. Our grandparents and aunts and uncles were nearby. Walking a couple miles or biking 5-10 miles was typical. Today, with home-schooling all the rage, and the job-hunters moving to the 'greener pastures' of other states, I shudder at the coming generation of control freaks without their own inner compasses.
