as this reminds me of the crap they were spewing at Freeperville after the second Bush-Kerry Debate, when it was obvious Bush got trounced, but the True Believers stood by anyways.

Do I feel any type of vindication or joy out of declaring a loss here? Of course not. But to deny reality hurts us in these campaigns, and doesn't allow for adjustements necessary to ACTUALLY WIN A FUCKING ELECTION FOR ONCE.

The back-patters and loyalists always blindly declare victory, which is fine if you have the backing of the majority, as history will judge you the victor, at least in the short term. But we may not. So lets adjust and adapt, and win a frikken election for once.

Casey didn't win this. He came off as weak, and uncertain. His assertion that the solution to a geopolitical trajedy like Iraq requires "More special forces" basically invalidates anything else he has to say.

Again, I'm sorry.

Truth hurts.
