33. Yea, racism seems to be a common element.
Even if it's the subtle racism as I describe in a post above.

They are scared of "brown" people.

In all fairness, my co-worker was raised in a Midwestern town of 73,000, surrounded by rural area. She says there was one black person at her high school. Twenty years later, I know she still carries the stigmas and fears she learned in an all white, relatively rural community.

So, I do somewhat understand where her ignorance is rooted. But, it still doesn't mean that I have to like her or be sympathetic toward her. Frankly, she repulses me.
