My Mike Malloy Story

Years ago, long before AAR, Mike was streaming during the 3:00pm to 6:00pm time slot. I ran my business from my house and my stream was turned on RELIGIOUSLY at 5 till 3:00.

I was also a frequent contributor to Mike's show both on and off the air. I was known as the 'Boston Bureau Chief' during the infamous government time after 9/11 when Assckrack told the world to 'Watch for Lobstermen' and other such nonsense.

Mike and I became friends and spoke regularly. I called in live from Peace Protests along with Will Pitt and we spoke at night as well.

In October 2002, a bunch of us met Mike in D.C. for the only PRE-WAR anti-war protest in history. We stayed in the same hotel ("WE" being a TON of DUers including Kephra, Will Pitt, Lynne, Ramsey, Robin, Martin, and many others; sorry all who I forgot) with Mike & Kathy.

Funny story: Mike had taken an antihistamine and we were back in our room and Pitt offered to pour Mike a scotch (from my stash thank you very much). Well Pitt poured about 20 fingers :eyes: and Mike was knocked out due to the combination in about a half hour. Kathy put him to bed and we continued making signs for the next day and partying.

The next day Mike and we stood shoulder to shoulder and marched on Washington with about 500,000 other patriots. It was really one of the best times of my life.

I just wanted to tell the story. Mike isn't dead and he sure as hell isn't gone from the airwaves. When Mike went to late nights, I couldn't listen anymore live since my job gets me up before the sun but I don't think I have missed many of his shows on reruns.

Mike, if you read this, rock on my brother. You will be kicking repuke ass over the radio soon and hopefully somewhere with an even larger audience.

Peace bro.

on edit: that was the DAY of Paul Wellstone's murder accident so it was REALLY an interesting day.
