12. Back in the 80's, the commies wanted to kill us.

We watched really lame movies like "The Day After" and shivered in fear because evil Commies hated us and wanted to kill us.

We're still here.

And, this is something that's always pissed me off... during the Cold War, when shit really was dangerous and the threat of nuclear holocaust felt real and tangible, we didn't have to endure Patriot Acts or Illegal Wiretapping or constant fearmongering for the sake of asshole politicians holding onto their power.

As fucking awful as Reagan was, he didn't do that. Sure, he was crafty and manipulative and sold a kind-of phony optimism, but dammit, he didn't hold Americans by their throats and say "The other guy wants the Commies to kill you."

We're still here. We're gonna be here long after this crooked administration is gone, too.

No matter how much "they" hate us.

Awesome rant, Witch!
