Let's suppose for a moment... (Tropical Depression #5)

that what is now Tropical Depression #5 becomes a full-blown hurricane as it moves toward the hot, reletively undisturbed waters of the Gulf of Mexico. If this happens (and it looks like it could be huge if it stays on current predicted track) and this storm impacts the New Orleans area at Cat 3 or higher, what will happen this time to NO and vicinity? Would it mean the end of New Orleans as we've always known it?
