The event was to celebrate the fact that the Groton Submarine Base was not being closed. In what universe would the governor of the state, the representative of the district where the base is located and the United States senator from the state who championed the cause not be there? Are you seriously telling me that if the other two pols had been Democrats, Lieberman would have stayed away?
