56. Katrina
first thing that is needed is money, 110 billion, a lot went out the door to help people adjust, and then there is rental assistance, infrastructure, Louisiana is slower than Mississippi. The money is available to remove that debree. 1.8 for ed. Schools are running, a lot are. Spending money on flood insurance. More work to be done. 17 billion for direct housing for people. I made the decision that each state should develop it's own plan. Same in Mississippi. I thought it best to have local plan. Each state developed its own plan. Area where people will see the most affect is CDBG. Was concerned at first about what would be appropriated, think $ is a strong commitment.
