You've sized it up completely. The maddening part is that there seems to be no existing way to impact or confront them with the reality you've just stated. Other than constant email and letter writing campaigns of little probable real effect, mass boycotts of sponsoring advertisers, or finally just turning the droning blather they shovel out day after day completely off and supporting alternative news outlets like Link and FSTV, which exist on satellite-- but I don't know about cable. Economic hurt of their bottom line-- advertising profit-- is the only tool that could ever have a hope of creating change, but no such mass movements to reject the status quo exist. That's the depressing reality.
