4. In the same week, I read a bit on Salon about teenage pregnancy

65 out of 1300 girls in a Canton, OH school district turned up pregnant after receiving abstinence only sex ed. The school system is planning to revise the curriculum to include info. about contraception now, while still emphasiznig abstinence.

Of course, the lives of the 65 girls, their babies, and their families are changed forever. And this is the the sort of thing that has the potential to affect every family in the country. But, hey, what's that compared to the 10 year old murder of a petite beauty queen?
