I have two pet corn snakes, and they're the sweetest, gentlest creatures you could ever hope to meet. Plus, if it weren't for corn snakes a lot of people would have died from having their grain eaten by mice and rats -- or worse, having the rodent feces spoil the corn leading to horrible diseases. People are finally figuring out that those horrid rattlesnake round-ups lead to an increase in the rodent population and consequent human disease. (I don't hate rodents, but you have to respect the danger of disease they represent.)

I stay away from hots because they're dangerous, but I do love to look at them and their pictures because they're stunning animals.

And I'll tell you, there's not much better than having a snake give you a shoulder massage after a hard day at work.
