Bush is doing it for him.
I'm certain that this is precisely what bin Laden meant when he talked about doing serious damage to the US economy. Did the mujahadeen destroy what was left of the Soviet economy by attacking it's facilities? Nope. They destroyed it by baiting it into a tarpit, and bleeding it dry over many years. That is precisely what is being done to us.
Bush's invasion of Iraq must have been a miraculous thing for Bin Laden. I bet it only reinforced his delusion that they are doing the will of Allah.
