7. Not if we IMPEACH and REMOVE him first.
Interesting conversation I had on the phone with a Feinstein staffer today. At the end of my conversation (during which I expressed hope that DiFi would support Lamont, and try to urge her pal Lieberman to pack it in), I ended it with "and don't forget to Visualize IMPEACHMENT!" The staffer volunteered - "well, censure at least." I came back quickly with - "NO. IMPEACHMENT. We need to go ALL THE WAY, and get him OUT."

What was significant to me was that NEVER have I heard one of her staffers offer an endorsement even of censure before. NEVER. It would NEVER even have come up, no less offered in discussion. I see this as proof positive that Ms Dianne has looked long and hard at the Lamont race and is taking its message to heart. And she'd better. She, too, is running for reelection, and the time to acknowledge the inevitable is NOW. Time was when people like her were like the Liebermans of the world. They'd patronize you because you were a constituent, but somehow they "knew better" and weren't about to take any of your suggestions to heart. I think she noticed. BIGTIME. The time to capitulate to bush is OVER. At least if you want to keep your job in politics.
