I believe the 3% in VA was 3% of the whole *population*, including children, not registered Democrat-voting age people. You don't register as a Dem or Rep. here--you just go to the polls and tell them that you want to cast either a Dem or a Rep. vote.

Even if we use the eligible voter denominator for CT:

There are more than 3.5 million people in CT. I am conservatively estimating:
--1.75 million are eligible to vote,
--700 thousand of those are registered as Democrats

Did anywhere close to 350000 CT voters turn out in this primary?
