Is this the watershed moment?

The defeat of long time senator Joe Lieberman?

As an outsider, looking in--I think it is. I sure hope so. If I could dream - Lieberman would be soundly trounced. A landslide for Lamont.

Because Lieberman has become a symbol of everything that is wrong with modern day politics within America. It is about the Iraq war--but it is also so much more than that. If I was an American, my defining moment that Lieberman had to go, was when he stated that to critisize the president puts the nation at peril during a time of war. Those may not be the exact words - but the jist is the same. The nation never should of gone to war in the first place.....especially, most especially given the extremely shaky evidence they whored and inflated beyond all reason. So - we all know the war was waged on false pretenses, but we are just supposed to shut up and suck it up, because to dissent would somehow help terrorists. How stupid does he think you all are???? Incapable of thinking for yourselves???

Take your country back. One seat at a time. Show the world the strength of a democratic nation. There are consequences Joe. Voting for the war was one strike against you. But to attempt to quell any dissent of the president and its policies, given the facts and reality we know.....undermines the very foundations of a democracy. Time to go Joe. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
