As someone of East Indian origin it makes a lot of sense to me.
Also India has never just rolled over for Israel...they only even recognized the state of Israel in the 90s. They have pandered to Arab countries as much as to the US or Israel. They have both fundamentalist Hindu and Muslim factions over there and the politics of the country are highly complicated because of that.

It also has a lot to do with the specific politicians in charge at a given time. India's landscape is maddeningly complicated. Some politicians are interested in securing the muslim vote and thus condemn Israel. Some see Israel as an ally since both countries have faced off with militant Islam (200+ people died in a bomb attack on trains in Bombay last month).


I do not think what Israel is doing in Lebanon is right, but I don't understand this oversimplified "Israel rules the entire world" vision of the world:eyes:.... Truly the stuff of conspiracy theory. Each region has its own unique political landscape and sometimes there are nuances..

And India is a democracy, not a "democracy" - a far from perfect democracy but still a democracy. And certainly much more of a democracy than Pakistan, Afghanistan etc.
