but it's always been a case of simply not being able to do it any more. There have been no dramatic declamations, no packed suitcases and tearful recriminations, just a quiet nip out the back door, never to return.

Should this one march toward rigid orthodoxy, the chances are very good that I'll leave this one, too.

My absence will not be noticed, and that's OK.
