138. New Mexico is pretty affordable.

Depending on what you do, I suppose. Of course, the salaries are--for the most part--lower along with the cost of living, but if you save up a little before moving you could do well buying property. Housing costs are high in Santa Fe and going up in Las Cruces, but are still very low compared to lots of places.

I love my home state and can't wait to get back there next year.
