The Republicans want to paint the Connecticut primary as being the pacifist wing of the party, or the ANSWER wing, kicking Lieberman. I think that's a small part of the story. There is a range of opinion on the war within the party, and excluding one issue, Lieberman's is not that far from Kennedy's or Clinton's.

That one issue is: George W. Bush.

Lieberman clearly thought this was the right time to stand by a president who has lied, who has pissed on the Constitution, and who has conducted an incompetent foreign policy. That will not stand with the voters in Connecticut.

It wasn't the war. It was the kiss.
