Remember the orphan girl who had her family blown-up in front of her on the beach in Gaza during a picnic? She was adopted by Shk. Hamdan:

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday expressed his desire to adopt 11-year-old Huda Ghalia, the young Palestinian whose family members were killed in an Israeli air strike on a northern Gaza beach last Friday.

The family of eight, including a one-year-old baby, were reported to have died following the firing of artillery shells from Israeli gunboats stationed off the Mediterranean coast.

According to WAM reports, Shaikh Hamdan telephoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday to convey his offer to adopt the young girl. Shaikh Hamdan requested that Huda be allowed to travel to the UAE to be cared for by his family.
