Local business passing on the costs of petroleum-related products [View All]

There's a local fruit & meat market where we shop. Today there was a new sign that said "due to increased cost of petroleum products (plastic bags), we cannot give the multiple-pound discount if you use separate bags." Basically, they give a discount if you get 3+ pounds of meat, and now customers who want those 3+ pounds in separate bags will no longer get the discount.

I thought it was very interesting to see a local business acknowledging the increased costs of petroleum products and passing along the charges to customers. I'm sure part of it is also to cut down on the pain-in-the-ass factor of people wanting separate bags, but interesting nonetheless. I wonder if it's a sign of more to come?
