4. It Shows They Never Studied History...
We have "reminders" of the waste of Viet Nam all around us. If they were caring individuals they would see with both eyes open what continual hell those who came back from Viet Nam live with on a daily basis and with that in mind would vow for the same thing NOT to happen to those of this conflict...However if they are selfish and it does not bother them to forget about the troops once they are home history will repeat itself. Many of these young adults went into this war thinking they were doing what's right while others were talked into going on the "trip around the world" or scholarship plan. None planned on having repeated tours of duty and few ever expected to see the violence that many returning home can even start to talk about. They simply cannot mainstream back into society as easy as taking off their uniform and wearing civilian clothes. It may take months or even years for some of them to face the reality of what they have been thru. Society may see the homelessness but they don't see what is at root of it.
