Heck, the immigration wars are only now cooling down a little bit, but they could flare up again at any time. Anti illegal immigration people were called racists by pro-immigration people, or at least it was constantly stated something like "people are only against immigration because they are racist" or that "it's all about race". Plus the Rove indictment/Leopold-Truthout police action (okay it was more of a war than a police action) is still simmering, with hurt feelings on both sides.

So there are plenty of DUers who do not get along with other DUers and there are a variety of opinions on such issues as immigration, the death penalty, guns, etc. It isn't about people getting axed because the collective "we" do not get along with them. It is usually because "they" did not follow the rules - rules about posting flame-bait, RW talking points, or failing to maintain civil discourse.
