-- shredded the Bill of Rights the way the Bush admin has done, the American populace would have risen up in righteous wrath to expel the invaders, and blood would have flowed in the streets of our cities.

Instead, in the name of security we have ceded our rights hand over fist. I don't advocate violence, ever, but I do think we as a people are confused. We are accustomed to peace and good order, we are accustomed to believing we are a nation of laws, and we are accustomed to believing those laws protect us. We are accustomed to orderly transitions of power via democratic elections.

We are confused because all of our expectations have been subverted and turned on their heads, starting with Bush's "election".

Keith Olbermann did a good job of naming reality tonight.
