Karl Rove and the boys are laughing their asses off that we are not full-time working to retake Congress. Instead here we are battling each other over this Israeli action green-lighted, funded and armed by whom?

Karl and the boys of course.

There is no accident in the fact that this attack is taking place just before the election. It is a deliberate distraction and it is working. Sickeningly, these assholes are happy to slaughter (or authorize and support it) as an election year distraction.

Surely someone is going to tell me now that Hezbollah chose the timing with their kidnapping of the two soldiers. But, to those people Ill ask, WHY THIS ATTACK? Why was this particular attack suddenly declared an "act of war" when previous attacks have been met with far more measured response? I believe it is a timing issue. The attacks are regular. So, you can pretty much pick the attack that fits a date that works for you. (and for the record, fuck Hezbolllah for giving them the casus beli with their indiscriminate violence!)

Karl Rove is loving this. He is loving our division. He is loving the fact that with less than 100 days until the mid-terms, we are not fully mobilized (or even a little organized ) to fight the November battle.

Of course the violence is something that should not be ignored.

But, the bottom line is that the only way to make ALL of this shit stop is by throwing the repug fucks out of office and using our democratically controlled congress to investigate and punish these criminals. If we do not win, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict will continue to worsen with Repug support, the war in Iraq will continue and be handed to the next guy to deal with, the poor will keep being fucked by the rich, the gap between those groups will continue to grow and the new Congress WILL pass the new bill giving Bush the legal authorization to declare anyone eligible for indefinite detention and torture, you, me your gramma, everyone.

We have to focus on the BIG picture. Congressional control. Otherwise all of our bitching is pointless and will change absolutely nothing.

(Prediction, this thread drops like a rock, like a related post I put up yesterday. Of course i did put Lebanon on the subject line. I figured people may actually read it then. We'll see.)
