makes installing Wine pretty easy. Wine in turn makes most Windoze software runnable within Linux (no need to install XP or Vista, etc). WineDoors also includes one-click installation of many Windoze-native programs within its interface, including Irfanview.

Agree about GIMP, it's a bit puzzling at first. There are other image editing programs written for Linux but I am not familiar with any of them since I use PWP5.0 within Wine. One glitch I haven't solved and a trick or two to get it to run, but it works and I am accustomed to it. If you have been using something you liked within Windoze you might want to give it a try within Wine. If not, maybe spend more time exploring GIMP. "They say" it provides a very powerful and capable set of tools.
