7. This Baltar's Betrayal will be so much more powerfull
I think to the original series, and I often compare the basic plots of both the new and old. I know I shouldn't but I can't help it.

In the original series, Baltar was plain evil. Insane. You could tell. Yeah he was a member of the council of twelve, but you never really got any back story. You just saw him acting kinda smarmy saying 'trust the cylons'. He was killed in the 'movie' but when they made the ongoing series, they cut that part out, and used him as the head cylon baddie.

This Baltar...You're seeing his rise to prominence. You're not looking at a totally loony evil guy thinking 'Why are they trusting this bastard?' Sure they started out looking at him as being an eccentric genius, but his power is growing and growing, thanks in part to the cylons helping him gain power....why, we don't know yet...

The betrayal of this Baltar would be hugely felt, and I don't think it'd happen for a while to come. He'll continue to get power, and maybe even start to use that power subtly.
