Despite some folks' belief that our realities are going to split and people of different vibrations will end up completely separate from one another, on different planes of existence, the truth is that we all have to exist cheek by jowl on this planet. (For now, at least, although personally I don't believe our realities are ever going to diverge in the physical realm.) So the best we can do is what you did--change the subject, try to find some innocuous common ground, and remember that everybody's human. Then, if we can manage it, find compassion for these poor souls who have cast their lot in with the snake charmers on Faux Nooz and are buying into a perverted version of the "truth".
