Along with the Red Sox, the Yankees bring in the highest on-the-road ticket sales for the other teams; in some towns, like Baltimore, it's because NY fans travel to see them play and in other towns, it's because people hope to see them lose.
The 2008 World Series, which featured the Phillies & the Tampa Bay No-longer-devilish Rays, was the lowest rated, least watched Series of all time.

And you do follow baseball, right? When the team with the best record in the Majors goes into the playoffs, with home field advantage as far as they get, they generally are the favorites at the start of the post season.
The Phillies lost tonight. Use your hankey for its more intended purpose rather than insisting that a GAME is a metaphor for what is wrong with the U.S. If the Phillies win the Series, we Yankee fans will tough it out and then start discussing whom Hank and Hal will buy us for Christmas this year. :>
