13. I finished Old Man's War
It's an absorbing read. My only nitpicks are that it's a bit too chatty and pedantic at times and there are a few small logical flaws or at least a lack of explanations when one seems to be called for*. And one huge logical flaw, though a resolution is hinted at by the novel's end, no spoilers so I'll just say it's one of the typical ones of mass market sci fi.

I also caught one error the editor should have picked up on. "four slices of thick, brown sugar ..." where by context it was clear " toast" or a similar noun should have been used after the adjective "thick".

Hmmm, unless they are deliberately inserting random and unique errors to identify peeps who distribute these files?

Bottom line: A great fast paced read that does evoke memories of Heinlein.

*Though ham fisted editors have been know to excise explanations to keep the narrative flow going. They always think "no one will notice", but we do.

P.S. Faintly reminiscent of "On My Way To Paradise". An older (amazing) novel with a more believable premise imo. But that novel had a different type of pacing and style. What is here is here for a reason and it works.
