63. Join the Care-a-Van in Federal Way
Mad as Hell Doctors Care-a-van to Washington , DC

The “Mad as Hell Doctors” are so intent on real health care reform that they are organizing a care-a-van to Washington DC . Sounds outrageous and wonderful, doesn’t it? This group of physicians will stop in cities along the way to educate and advocate for a single payer health system in the United States . They held a pilot rally in Sequim , WA , on August 25th and approximately 700 people attended. Check out their website at www.madashelldoctors.com.
On September 8th the “Mad as Hell Doctors” care-a-van will be in Seattle . From there the caravan will travel to Spokane . Check out the map on the website. http://www.madashelldoctors.com/

On Sept 8th, on its way to Seattle , the care-a-van will stop in Federal Way at 2:30 pm at St Francis Hospital to enable other supporters to gather and join in. St Francis Hospital is located at 34515 9th Ave S, Federal Way , WA . Use Exit 142 to go west on 348th St to 9th Ave S. Turn right on 9th Ave S to St Francis Hospital. The event in Seattle will be held at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center Community Room, 104 17th Ave S , at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Download signs from the website or bring your own signs. Put signs inside or outside of you car as you care-a-van to Seattle .

One of the organizers of this caravan, Dr Paul Hochfeld, produced a film called “Health, Money and Fear.” This film includes information on our current health care system, the history behind that system, and the sources of the high costs imbedded in that system. In addition, the doctors in the film discuss our expectations of health care, the rationing of health care, and how we can do better in making health a priority in the United States . This film will be shown at the Tacoma Film Festival, October 1-8, at the Grand Theater. DVD’s will be available at the Seattle event or you can order them from Paul Hochfeld at phochfeld {at} msn.com.
