It's that he was completely wrong when he did so. CNN ran this supposed fact-check segment after Sicko came out saying that the movie was full of holes, but every single point Gupta made could easily be disproven by anyone with The Google and fifteen minutes to burn. The most embarrassing incident was when Gupta criticized the movie for making Cuba seem like a Communist utopia and covering up the fact that the WHO actually ranks Cuba below the United States in overall health care. CNN went so far as to pull a shot of the WHO list from the movie but delete Cuba from the shot to make it seem like Moore was being dishonest.

The last thing we need in this country is a surgeon general who is willing to go on national TV, lie about the quality of US health care and defame its critics as left-wing nutbags.
